Gbets is bringing the fire to the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC), with our sponsorship of EFC fighter Tresor “Fire Boy” Pupanga. Gbets will sponsor Pupanga’s rematch against champion Luke Michael for the EFC Middleweight Championship Title, at EFC 100 on 1 December 2022 at the EFC performance institute in Paulshof, Gauteng, South Africa. Gbets will be promoted on all clothing items, including the announcement banner, Pupanga’s t-shirts and fight night shorts, the cornermen’s t-shirts, as well as the fans' t-shirts.

Pupanga was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) but relocated to Johannesburg when he was a child. Pupanga first got into martial arts when he was a child. His dad initially introduced him to karate, but Pupanga decided that he didn’t like it and started Japanese Jiu Jitsu when he was 12 years old, subsequently reaching the level of black belt. He then took up kickboxing, which he continued with upon arriving in South Africa. Fighting in K-1 tournaments, he was given the nickname, “Fireboy” by his K-1 coach.
Recognising his huge potential, Pupanga's coaches introduced him to MMA. Since discovering MMA, Pupanga has gone from strength to strength in this martial arts field. He won the world amateur championship in 2014 and has been ranked the number 1 heavyweight in both South Africa and the state of Nevada, USA. In fact, he is undefeated in seven amateur fights, with a 7-0 record.
